Within the Eiffel software development method and language, the terms argument and parameter have distinct uses established by convention. The routine sum takes two arguments addend1 and addend2, which are called the routine's formal arguments. A call to sum specifies actual arguments, as shown below with value1 and value2. Parameters are also thought of as either formal or actual. Formal generic parameters are used in the definition of generic classes. TABLE, the formal generic parameters are substituted with actual generic parameters in a generic derivation. As such, both data and key formal generic parameters are substituted with actual generic parameters of type STRING. In strongly typed programming languages, each parameter's type must be specified in the procedure declaration. Languages using type inference attempt to discover the types automatically from the function's body and usage. Dynamically typed programming languages defer type resolution until run-time. Weakly typed languages perform little to no type resolution, relying instead on the programmer for correctness.
HP support for Apollo products was fragmented for the first few years, but was reorganized in late 1992, at which point there were still some 100,000 users of Apollo products and the user group IWorks (formerly InterWorks) had some 4,500 members. HP responded the next winter with a trade-in program of its own, that also allowed trading in hardware from Sun and other vendors in return for a discount on HP workstations. N.B. As I said above, you should be careful that the first byte of the hostid matches the system type. Notice the simplification in the above example. If you make the ethernet address 08:00:20:H1:H2:H3 and the four bytes of the hostid ST,H1,H2,H3 where ST is the system type byte, and you put ST,0,0,0 in the date of manufacture field, then the IDPROM checksum will always be 29 (remember all of these numbers are hexadecimal). 3. Change the hostid of an SS1000 to 80c0ffee. Leave the ethernet address and the date of manufacture intact. 4. Install a new NVRAM in an IPX. Set the hostid to 57c0ffee and the ethernet address to be 08:00:20:c0:ff:ee . 1. Turn the machine off. 3. Install the new NVRAM chip. Be sure to get the orientation right. 4. Turn the machine on. 5. At the OpenBoot monitor prompt execute the following commands: set-defaults setenv diag-switch?
November 2017 had a MIPS-based design as a small part of the coprocessors. 10 (i.e. it was 5th on Green500 and other such ZettaScaler-2.2-based systems take first three spots). At 19.86 million cores, it was by far the largest system by core-count, with almost double that of the then-best manycore system, the Chinese Sunway TaihuLight. Fugaku grew its HPL performance to 442 petaflops, a modest increase from the 416 petaflops the system achieved when it debuted in June 2020. More significantly, the ARMv8.2 based Fugaku increased its performance on the new mixed precision HPC-AI benchmark to 2.0 exaflops, besting its 1.4 exaflops mark recorded six months ago. These represent the first benchmark measurements above one exaflop for any precision on any type of hardware. Sequoia became the last Blue Gene/Q model to drop completely off the list; it had been ranked 10th on the 52nd list (and 1st on the June 2012, 41st list, after an upgrade).
