Sony FX30 Camera Remote SDK is extended with functions for drones

Introducing Sony FX30 Camera

We recently introduced you to the Sony FX30 camera. This is part of the Cinema Line and, as the name suggests, is made for filming. As part of an update to version 1.06, Sony is now expanding the compatibility of the Camera Remote SDK to include the Cinema Line cameras (FX6, FX3 and FX30). Which cameras are otherwise compatible shows the list linked here. The Camera Remote SDK is a software development kit for operating Sony cameras remotely from a computer and making camera settings. Version 1.06 not only extends the functionality of the software to more cameras, but also has new functions in store. These are particularly exciting in the field of drones. In the professional sector, a camera is definitely strapped onto a drone and the footage from the drone cameras themselves is not used. The “Drone GPS sync” function is new. By assigning ImageIDs, the SDK can link GPS data to still images in real time. There are also new settings and the option to save or reset settings more easily. Thanks to its compatibility with the FX6, it is also possible to control up to five devices in parallel. Since the use of the SDK is increasing according to Sony, further developments are conceivable in the future.
